Amidst debates about tariff and the politics of importing goods from Asia, clients may wish to consider nearby Puerto Rico. This U.S. territory is eager to grow its technology and manufacturing businesses. Among other things, goods made there can bear the label “Made in the USA” which may prove to be valuable in the U.S. market in the months ahead. Beyond “labels”, Puerto Rico has a sophisticated and bi-lingual population and great plans for growth and a very favorable tax environment. I am excited about the prospects of the growth of businesses in Puerto Rico and the expansion of commerce between Puerto Rican businesses and the “mainland.”
